The Powerful Rules Engine lets you combine multiple offer sources inside a single campaign. Instead of picking one method to decide which products appear in your widget, you can now stack several rules such as manually selected products, Shopify recommendations, Selleasy AI, metafield-based products, and specific variants and control the exact order in which they appear.
All the products returned by these rules are shown together in one widget on your storefront. Your customers see a single, seamless set of offer products; the rules simply decide what goes into it.

This feature is available only on the Max plan (99 USD/month) It is not supported in Upsell/Downsell-type campaigns i.e., Product page, Cart page, and Post-purchase upsell/downsell campaigns. In those campaign types, and on all other plans, a campaign can use only one offer source at a time.
1. What changes with the Rules Engine
In other plans: In a single campaign, you could choose only one of the following as your offer source — Specific products, Specific variants, Products specified in a metafield, Shopify recommendations, or Selleasy AI.
With Max plan: You can add multiple offers within the same campaign, each with its own source and its own configuration. For example, a single Product add-ons (List) campaign can show two hand-picked products first, followed by AI-generated recommendations, followed by Shopify's recommendations, all in one widget.
This is useful when you want:
- Guaranteed products first, automation second - always show your two best-selling accessories, then let AI fill the remaining slots.
- Broader coverage - if one rule returns few or no products for a particular trigger product, the other rules still populate the widget.
- Different logic for different product groups - combine a metafield-driven rule (for products where you have curated data) with a Shopify recommendations rule (for everything else).
2. Where to find it
- Open the campaign you want to configure in the Selleasy app.
- Scroll to the Offers section.
- You will see your existing offer listed as Offer 1, along with an Add offer button below it.

3. Adding an offer rule
- Click Add offer. A new offer row is added to the bottom of the list.
- Choose how the offer products should be determined using the two dropdowns:
- The first dropdown decides the broad method i.e., Manually select the offer products or Use Shopify recommendations or Selleasy AI.
- The second dropdown decides the specific source within that method.
- Complete the configuration for that offer.
- Repeat for as many rules as you need, then click Save.

Each offer row displays a summary label even when collapsed, the source name (for example, Specific products) and the number of products that rule contributes (for example, 2 items). This lets you review the whole setup at a glance without expanding every rule.
4. Which offer types can be repeated?
Most offer types can be added more than once in the same campaign. Selleasy AI is the only exception.
Offer type | Can be added multiple times? |
Specific products | ✅ Yes, but a product already used in another rule cannot be selected again |
Specific variants | ✅ Yes, but a variant of a product already used in another rule cannot be selected again |
Products specified in a metafield | ✅ Yes |
Use Shopify recommendations | ✅ Yes |
Selleasy AI | ❌ Only once per campaign |
Why is Selleasy AI limited to one rule? Selleasy AI generates a single recommendation set per trigger product, along with one AI-generated upsell pitch. Running it twice in the same campaign would duplicate the same analysis, consume AI credits twice, and produce overlapping recommendations. If you want more products from AI, increase the Maximum number of products to show inside the existing AI rule instead of adding a second one.
Once a Selleasy AI rule has been added to the campaign, the Selleasy AI option is hidden from the dropdown in all other offer rules. It becomes available again if you delete the rule that uses it.
A product can be used in only one rule When you manually select offer products using Specific products or Specific variants, each product can be used in only one rule per campaign. The restriction applies at the product level, which means it also covers variants of that product:
- If a product is selected in one rule, that product cannot be selected in any other rule.
- If a variant is selected in one rule, that variant's parent product cannot be selected in another rule.
- If variant A of a product is selected in one rule, variant B of the same product cannot be selected in another rule.
In short: once a product appears anywhere in the campaign — as a whole product or as one of its variants — it is unavailable to every other rule. This prevents the same product from occupying two slots in the widget.
If you want a product to appear in a different position, remove it from its current rule first, or reorder the rules instead (see section 5).
5. Controlling the order of products in the widget
Products appear in the storefront widget in the same order as the offer rules are listed. Offer 1's products appear first, followed by Offer 2's, and so on.
To rearrange:
- Hover over the ⣿ drag handle on the left of an offer row.
- Drag the row up or down to the position you want.
- Click Save.
Put your highest-margin or highest-converting products in Offer 1. Products at the top of the widget receive the most attention, and on smaller widget layouts the later offers may require scrolling.
If two rules return the same product Dynamic sources such as Shopify recommendations, metafields, and Selleasy AI can independently return the same product. In that case, the product is shown only once, in the position given by the first rule that returned it. Later rules will skip the respective product from being shown.
6. The 50-product limit
A single campaign can contribute a maximum of 50 products in total across all its offer rules.
- Each rule contributes its own count — the number of products or variants you selected, or the Maximum number of products to show value for dynamic sources such as Shopify recommendations, metafields, and Selleasy AI.
- The counts of all rules are added together. This cumulative total is what the limit applies to, not the number of rules.
- As long as the cumulative total is below 50, the Add offer button remains available.
- Once the cumulative total reaches 50, the Add offer button disappears.
Example: Offer 1 (Specific products – 20 items) + Offer 2 (Product Metafield – 20 items) + Offer 3 (Selleasy AI – 10 items) = 50 products. The Add offer button will no longer be shown.
If you need to add another rule after reaching the limit, reduce the product count in an existing rule or delete a rule you no longer need and the Add offer button will reappear.
7. Enabling and disabling individual rules
Every offer rule has a toggle next to its name.
- Switching the toggle off disables that rule alone. Its products stop appearing in the widget, while all other rules in the campaign continue to run normally.
- The rule and all its configuration are retained, so you can switch it back on at any time without setting it up again.
This is useful for testing which combination of rules performs best, or for temporarily pausing a seasonal set of hand-picked products without rebuilding the campaign.

Disabling a rule does not free up its share of the 50-product limit. To recover that capacity, reduce the rule's product count or delete the rule.
8. Example setup
Here is a common configuration for a Product add-ons (List) campaign on a clothing store:
Order | Offer type | Configuration | Purpose |
Offer 1 | Specific products | 2 hand-picked accessories | Always-on, highest-margin add-ons |
Offer 2 | Products specified in a metafield | Namespace custom, Key complementary, max 3 | Curated, product-wise pairings maintained in bulk |
Offer 3 | Selleasy AI (powered by ChatGPT) | Complementary products, max 3 | Fills gaps for products with no curated data |
Offer 4 | Use Shopify recommendations | Max 2 | Store-wide purchase behaviour |
Total: 10 products towards the 50-product limit. The widget shows the two hand-picked accessories first, then the curated metafield products, then the AI recommendations, then Shopify's suggestions.
