The Basic AI Recommendations are powered by Shopify’s Product Recommendations API. For any given trigger product, our app requests recommendations from Shopify through this API, and Shopify responds with a list of suggested products. After receiving these recommendations from Shopify, you can apply filters to refine which of those products will actually be shown in your campaign.
These filters are applied after Shopify returns the recommended products. It is not possible to instruct Shopify to generate filtered recommendations directly. Because of this, applying filters may reduce the number of offer products shown in some cases or the campaign might not be shown at all.
1. Product Tags
Select existing product tag(s) from your store.
Rules:
- Includes: From Shopify’s recommended products, only those with the selected tag(s) will be shown as offer products. If none match, the campaign will not be shown.
- Excludes: From Shopify’s recommended products, any with the selected tag(s) will be excluded from the campaign.
2. Collections
Select existing collection(s) from your store.
Rules:
- Includes: From Shopify’s recommended products, only products belonging to the selected collection(s) will be displayed as offer products.
- Excludes: From Shopify’s recommended products, any belonging to the selected collection(s) will be excluded.
3. Product Title
Enter the exact product title (case-sensitive).
Example: If the product title is “Classic Black Hoodie”, you must enter it exactly like this. Using just “classic” will not work.
Rules:
- Starts with: From Shopify’s recommended products, only those whose titles start with the entered text will be shown.
- Ends with: From Shopify’s recommended products, only those whose titles end with the entered text will be shown.
- Contains: From Shopify’s recommended products, only those whose titles contain the entered text will be shown.
- Does not contain: From Shopify’s recommended products, any whose titles contain the entered text will be excluded.
- Equals: From Shopify’s recommended products, only those whose titles exactly match the entered text will be shown.
If none of the recommended products meet these conditions, the campaign will not be shown.
4. Product Price
Enter a numerical value (up to two decimal places). This refers to the sale price set for products in Shopify.
The price filter uses your store’s default currency and cannot be changed. For other currencies, Shopify’s default currency conversion is used.
Rules:
- Greater than: From Shopify’s recommended products, only those priced higher than the given value will be shown.
- Less than: From Shopify’s recommended products, only those priced lower than the given value will be shown.
- Equal to: From Shopify’s recommended products, only those priced exactly at the given value will be shown.
If none meet the condition, the campaign will not be displayed.
5. Product Category
Select product categories from Shopify’s list. All Shopify categories are shown (not just those in your store). You can search for specific subcategories for more accuracy.
Rules:
- Show: From Shopify’s recommended products, only those belonging to the selected categories will be shown.
- Don’t show: From Shopify’s recommended products, any that belong to the selected categories will be excluded.
6. Product Type
Select the existing product type(s) in your store.
Rules:
- Show: From Shopify’s recommended products, only those of the selected type(s) will be shown.
- Don’t show: From Shopify’s recommended products, any of the selected type(s) will be excluded.
7. Inventory
Enter a numerical value for inventory.
This filter works only if “Track quantity” is enabled for the products. If tracking is disabled, this condition will fail, and the campaign will not be shown.
Rules:
- Greater than: From Shopify’s recommended products, only those with inventory greater than the entered value will be shown.
- Less than: From Shopify’s recommended products, only those with inventory less than the entered value will be shown.
- Equal to: From Shopify’s recommended products, only those with inventory exactly matching the entered value will be shown.
If none of the recommended products satisfy these conditions, the campaign will not be displayed.
8. Vendor
Select existing product vendor(s) from your store.
Rules:
- Show: From Shopify’s recommended products, only those from the selected vendor(s) will be shown.
- Don’t show: From Shopify’s recommended products, any from the selected vendor(s) will be excluded.
